On 15 October 2026, eSign.AI exhibited at the 2026 yonyou Enterprise AI Summit in Hong Kong, joining the ecosystem cohort behind yonyou's "AI First, yonyou Now" push. The booth sat inside a broader argument the summit made all day: enterprise AI adoption lives or dies at the workflow layer.
Why contracts are the workflow that decides it
Enterprise AI demos rarely fail on model quality. They fail where the model meets a process that has to be evidenced. Contracts are the sharpest case. An AI agent can draft, summarise, compare and flag risk on a clause, but the moment that clause becomes an executed agreement, three questions arrive at once: who signed, on what identity, and can the organisation prove it years later.
That is what we demoed. Digital signing, identity verification and AI contract agents were shown as one chain rather than three products, so the output of an AI step stays anchored to a signer identity and a tamper-evident record.
The Hong Kong evidence standard
Hong Kong is a useful test case for audit readiness because its requirements are specific. The Electronic Transactions Ordinance (Cap. 553) sets out when an electronic signature satisfies a requirement for a signature, and the Electronic Transactions (Amendment) Ordinance 2024 updated that framework. Identity is the second half: the Hong Kong SAR government's iAM Smart platform provides a verified digital identity that signers can reuse, and eSign.AI was the first e-signature SaaS provider to connect to it, alongside support for Corporate Digital Identity (CorpID) for corporate signers.
For teams operating across the Greater Bay Area, the practical benefit is that a signature event created in Hong Kong carries identity evidence a counterparty elsewhere can inspect, rather than a scanned ID image attached to an email.
What the ecosystem conversations turned on
Three questions came up repeatedly with partners and customers. Whether an AI-generated clause can be traced back to the source document it was drawn from. Whether an approval chain can be reconstructed months later without a manual search through shared drives. And whether identity verification can be reused across document types instead of re-onboarding the same signer each time.
eSign.AI's trust services are used by organisations in more than 100 countries and regions, and the Hong Kong deployment runs on the same audit model as the rest of the network. For a group running yonyou ERP with AI layered on top, that means the contract layer does not need a separate evidence design.
Where to follow up
If you missed us at the booth, our breakdown of Hong Kong's ETO and iAM Smart requirements is the fastest way to see what a compliant signature event looks like in the SAR.
