eSign.AI was invited to speak at “Driving Digital Transformation in the Accounting Sector via CorpID Digital Signing”, an event hosted by the Hong Kong Digital Policy Office (DPO). The session covered how a signing platform integrates with the CorpID project, and what that integration changes for firms that sign on behalf of clients every day.
What CorpID adds to corporate signing
CorpID, the Digital Corporate Identity platform, is the corporate counterpart to iAM Smart and is scheduled for launch by the end of 2026. The problem it addresses is entity identity. When a counterparty receives a signature from a company, the question is not only whether the person is who they claim to be, but whether they were authorised to bind the company. Today that answer usually sits in a board resolution sent as an email attachment and checked by hand. CorpID moves the answer to platform level, where a signing workflow can consume it directly.
How the integration works in practice
eSign.AI presented the integration path between its signing platform and the CorpID project: authenticating the corporate signer against a verified corporate identity, binding that identity into the signature itself rather than into a covering email, and carrying it into the audit trail so the authorisation basis travels with the document. Because the same seal and evidence package are produced regardless of jurisdiction, a document signed this way in Hong Kong can be presented to a counterparty in another market without rebuilding the evidence.
Why accounting is the first sector that feels it
Accounting workflows concentrate every hard case at once. Engagement letters, audit confirmations, tax filings and board resolutions repeat across a fixed client base, so volume is high and signers are known in advance. Authority sits with the entity rather than the individual. And a Hong Kong practice routinely signs for clients with mainland, Southeast Asian and European operations, so the same document has to satisfy more than one legal regime. Turning entity verification into a step the platform performs, rather than a document someone remembers to attach, removes a recurring delay from each of those flows.
What comes next
eSign.AI's trust services are used by organisations in more than 100 countries and regions, and the CorpID work extends the same model to corporate identity. Firms that want to test the path ahead of the platform's full launch can start with the identity layer itself.
